How much does a polished concrete floor cost?
Depending on the job specification it can vary but we would be more than happy to provide you with a free quote once we have inspected the floor.
Can old concrete be polished?
In most cases yes, however an onsite inspection will need to be carried out.
With new floors concrete should be in place 4 weeks prior.
Is polished concrete cold?
Absolutely not! Concrete has high thermal mass so it can absorb heat from the sun or other radiant sources and slowly release it throughout the day.
Lightweight materials such as timber have low thermal mass. Thermal mass is the ability of a material to absorb and store energy.
Can you have underfloor heating with polished concrete?
Do you pour the concrete?
No, but we would be happy to recommend a professional company to do it.
If you choose to go with a different company it is best that we liaise with them first to ensure the best result.
Are polished concrete floors slippery?
No, they may look as smooth as glass but are very safe to walk on and tend to be less slippery than other flooring options. Hence why it has become so much more popular in recent years. A sealer can also be applied that contains an anti-slip additive.
What sort of maintenance is involved with polished concrete?
One of the benefits to Polished concrete floors is that is virtually maintenance free and do not require waxing or polishing like stone, vinyl and wooden floors do. However, there are some easy tips that we can provide to ensure that floor stays amazing
